New online security service

New online security service from MINT

MINT is concerned about the online security of its customers and as a result wants to ensure we’re doing all we can to offer you as much protection as possible.

A new, free service that we’re now offering is the ability to register the debit card you use to pay your MINT balance with either "MasterCard®SecureCode™" or "Verified by Visa" (depending on card type). This service will allow you to set-up a password that will protect your debit card against unauthorised use through the internet. Registration will ensure you can keep using this debit card to make payments to your MINT account.

If you’ve not already registered your debit card for one of these services and your provider is part of this scheme, it’s really easy to sign-up. When making a payment to your MINT account, you’ll be prompted by MINT to amend your debit card details. Just update your debit card type and then follow the steps to finish registering your debit card for increased fraud protection. Simple!

Moved to online statements?

Online statements - don’t forget to make your monthly payment in the usual way

We know you have a busy life and dealing with your finances is just one little part of it. If you are now receiving e-mail statement notifications instead of paper statements, please remember to check your statement online and make your monthly payment as usual.

One great way to remind you when your monthly payment is due is to set up a FREE SMS or Email alert. You can set this to arrive, say, 5 days before your payment is due. You’ll find this under Alerts/Manage My Alerts.

Alternatively, it’s easy to set up a Direct Debit so that your payment is made automatically each month. You can set up a Direct Debit from the Account Maintenance section.


Stay Safe Online

At MINT we will never ask our customers for any personal information by email. If you think you have received a fraudulent email, before deleting it, please attach it to a new email and send it to phishing@rbs.co.uk.

If you think you may have responded to a phishing email with your Online Servicing security details, please call us immediately on 0845 300 4350. We are open 24 hours a day (Calls may be recorded).

It's easy to protect yourself online if you follow these simple steps:

  • Never divulge your full PIN or Password.
  • Never respond to an email that asks for your confidential or personal security information.
  • Install and maintain anti-virus software.
  • Install and activate a Personal Firewall.
  • Keep your computer software up to date.

  • Only individuals who have a Credit Card with MINT and who have registered or are registering for this service should proceed beyond this point. For the security of customers, any unauthorised attempt to access customer credit card information will be monitored, and may be subject to legal action.
